Reddit Audiences API

Setup Guide​

Click connect in the Edit Source form to the left.

Follow the authentication flow (OAuth) in Reddit to grant Extract the required permissions.

Ensure that your email and profile picture are visible, and verify that the destination status is Connected.

Hashing and normalization​

  • When Apply hashing (SHA256) is enabled for EMAIL, this connector canonicalizes the email before hashing: it trims whitespace, lowercases the address, removes plus aliases from the username, and removes non-ASCII-alphanumeric characters from the username.
  • When Apply hashing (SHA256) is enabled for MAID, this connector follows Reddit's casing rules before hashing: IDFA values are uppercased and AAID values are lowercased.
  • If source values are already hashed, Extract sends them through unchanged.

Your source dataset must be compatible with the parameter requirements of Reddit Audiences API, as outlined here: API documentation. This includes adhering to the expected formats and field types. If your data does not meet these requirements, the sync may fail.

Note: Extract can hash and normalize email and MAID identifiers for you. If your source values are already hashed, choose Source values are already hashed in the field mapping.
