Tiktok Conversion API

Setup Guide

To set up TikTok Ads Conversions API as a destination, you’ll need to provide the following:

  1. Access Token - Click the "Connect" button in the destination setup form. This will initiate the OAuth authentication flow. Follow the prompts to log in with your Tiktok account and grant Extract the required permissions.

Connection Setup Guide

In order to send events to TikTok, you will need to specify one or more identifiers recognizing your "data sets".

  1. Pixel Code - used for sending web events. Follow Tiktok's instructions to obtain your Pixel Code.

  2. Offline Event Set ID - used for sending offline events. Follow Tiktok's instructions to create an Offline Event Set and get the corresponding ID.

  3. TikTok App ID - used for sending mobile app events. Follow Tiktok's instructions to generate and obtain your TikTok App ID.

  4. CRM Event Set ID - used for sending CRM events. Follow Tiktok's instructions to create a CRM Event Set and retrieve the Event Set ID. (Note: In Step B, after clicking Connect a Data Source, make sure to select "CRM" as the data source type instead of "Offline.")

Hashing and normalization

  • When Apply hashing (SHA256) is enabled, phone identifiers are normalized to E.164 before hashing.
  • Email identifiers are currently hashed as received in this connector, without extra trim or lowercase normalization.

Your source dataset must be compatible with the parameter requirements of Tiktok's Conversions API, as outlined here: Tiktok Conversions API documentation. This includes adhering to the expected formats and field types. If your data does not meet these requirements, the sync may fail.

Note: Extract can apply the hashing and normalization rules above for this destination when you leave automatic hashing enabled.
