Source Setup Guide

Step 1

Create a Service Account:

  1. In Mixpanel, go to Service Accounts from the navigation menu.

  2. Click + Add Service Account.

  3. Enter a Service Account Name.

  4. Choose a Project Role from the dropdown.

  5. Set the Expiration Period as needed.

  6. Click Add.

  7. Copy the Username and Secret – you’ll need these when configuring the connector.

Step 2

Choose Data Region:

Choose your data residency region in Mixpanel.

Step 3

Find Your Project ID:

  1. Log in to your Mixpanel account.

  2. Click the Settings icon (top right) and select Project Settings.

  3. Under the Overview tab, locate and copy your Project ID.

Once you conneted Mixpanel to a destination, you will also need to configure:

  • Connection Pull Schedule: Determines how frequently data is extracted from the source.
  • Backfill (Days): Specifies the duration for which historical data will be retrieved during each connection run.
  • Destination specific settings: different settings such as "Dataset Name" or "Target Schema" (depanding on your destination)
  • Schema Migration Policy: Controls how Singular will handle schema changes from the sourcee source.
